This is the female version of the Manneken Pis, another symbol of Brussels. It is located near the Grand Place. Every year more and more tourists come to see her.
MORE MODERN AND WITH LESS STORIES
The history of the Jeanneke Pis is less fantastic and more commercial than that of the Manneken Pis. It was commissioned by the owner of a local business to promote it in 1987. If you come to visit the Jeanneke Pis you will realise that the street where it is located is very narrow and has no exit from the other side. A good way to attract customers was to place a little statue imitating the Manneken Piss at the end of the alley.
The name of this alley is Impasse de la Fidelite, next to the famous Rue de Bouchers, which is very well-known for its mussels restaurants.
Nowadays the street is usually full. You will find there the pissing girl and also the most famous beer bar in Brussels, Delirium Tremens.
Unlike her brother Manneken Pis,the Jeanneke Pisis not worn and therefore she does not have a wardrobe in the Town Hall of the Grand Place.
